The Oncology Chapter of ABCDE serves as a dynamic hub for physicians and trainees who are passionate about oncology and its subspecialties. As part of the Educational Committee, this chapter is dedicated to fostering learning, collaboration, and professional development in the field of cancer care.

Through structured educational activities and interactive discussions, we aim to bridge knowledge gaps, enhance clinical understanding, and connect members across different levels of training and practice.
Our mission is to create an engaging environment where participants can learn, teach, and grow together while contributing to the advancement of oncology education within our community.
Our Core Programs
Oncology Boards
Oncology Boards is an interactive, case-based discussion series designed to simulate real-world clinical decision-making. Participants present challenging or educational oncology cases, followed by guided discussions with peers and expert panelists.
These sessions focus on:
Clinical reasoning and management strategies
Evidence-based decision making
Multidisciplinary perspectives in oncology care
Resilience & Coping Skills
This is an excellent opportunity for trainees to deepen their clinical knowledge and for attendees to engage in meaningful, practice-oriented discussions.
Oncology Journal Club
The Oncology Journal Club is a platform for critical appraisal and discussion of high-impact research in oncology.
Participants present selected research papers, followed by in-depth group discussions that focus on:
- Study design and methodology
- Clinical relevance and applicability
- Practice-changing evidence
This initiative aims to strengthen research literacy, encourage academic discussion, and keep our community up to date with advancements in oncology.
Our Achievements & Impact
Since its establishment in 2021, the Oncology Chapter has grown into a vibrant and impactful educational platform within ABCDE.
Over the past five years, we have successfully organized:
- 30+ Oncology Boards sessions, fostering interactive, case-based clinical discussions
- 6 Oncology Journal Club sessions, promoting critical appraisal of high-impact research
These milestones reflect the dedication of our team, the enthusiasm of our participants, and the strength of our collaborative community.

Join as a Panelist
Main Location
We warmly invite attending physicians and consultants with an interest in oncology to join our sessions as panelists.
As a panelist, you will:
- Share your expertise and clinical insights
- Mentor trainees and junior physicians
- Contribute to high-level academic discussions
Submit a Presentation
We encourage all members to actively participate by contributing:
- Journal Club: Submit a research paper for presentation and discussion
- Oncology Boards: Submit an interesting or challenging clinical case

Oncology Chapter Leadership
The Oncology Chapter is guided by physicians passionate about cancer care, academic discussion, mentorship, and collaborative learning.
Chief Coordinator
Dr. Mostafa Aboeysha is currently an Internal Medicine resident at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso. He previously worked as a Clinical Research Fellow at Duke University.
He has a strong interest in oncology and a robust background in clinical research with multiple publications.
