Message from the President

Since 2020, Dr. Hegazi, President of the American Board Certified Doctors for Egypt (ABCDE), has been at the helm of the organization, driving its growth and expanding its mission to connect Egyptian physicians across borders.

Under his visionary leadership, ABCDE has transformed into a dynamic platform that fosters professional development, medical education, and international collaboration. Leveraging his own expertise as a Hematology/Oncology and Bone Marrow Transplant specialist, Dr. Hegazi spearheaded one of the organization’s flagship initiatives — The Oncology Boards, which has become a cornerstone educational program within the community.

Building upon the success of the Oncology Boards, Dr. Hegazi led the expansion into new subspecialties with the launch of The Cardiology Boards and The Psychiatry Boards, creating rich forums for knowledge exchange, case-based discussions, and professional growth across disciplines.

In addition to the educational boards, Dr. Hegazi has overseen the development of several impactful services designed to support Egyptian medical graduates navigating their careers in the United States. These include:

  • The ABCDE Grant Award Program — providing financial support to help graduates pursue residency training.

  • The ABCDE Mentorship Program — offering personalized mentorship to guide candidates through the complex residency application process.

  • The ABCDE Podcast — sharing real stories, insights, and advice from those who have successfully navigated the pathway from Egypt to the U.S. healthcare system.

Through these initiatives, Dr. Hegazi has strengthened ABCDE’s role as a vibrant, supportive community where knowledge, opportunity, and mentorship converge to empower the next generation of Egyptian physicians.

With a commitment to innovation, collaboration, and service, Dr. Hegazi continues to guide ABCDE toward new horizons, building bridges between physicians in Egypt and the United States, and leaving a lasting impact on the professional journeys of countless medical graduates.
